Due to the success of the Christmas by the Sea Event and Markets, Scarborough Lights is putting on 
NEW YEARS EVE FIREWORKS 
AT MIDNIGHT  (weather permitting)
(opposite the Scarborough Village Shopping Village- off the point at the end of Rock Street, Landsborough Avenue, Scarborough)

(Sorry- there will be no ealier fireworks or markets or entertainment this year due to finances- only midnight fireworks)

.ABOUT US:

Scarborough Lights is a not-for-profit Group of volunteers who formed in 2006 with the aim of "Bringing Back that Old-fashioned Christmas Spirit." Everything we do revolves around this theme.

 WHAT WE DO:

CHRISTMAS TREE & LIGHTS DISPLAY:

Scarborough Lights is responsible for providing those ten HUGE decorated and lit-up 3-metre tall Christmas Trees you see placed along Landsborough Avenue throughout December each year. 

This year, a local professional lighting company "Solus Lighting Solutions' has pledged their Sponsorship and have  provided additional Christmas lighting along the Scarborough Village Shopping Precinct right  throughout December. Our group of Volunteers have installed hundreds and hundreds of LED lights that hang in the natural trees that line Landsborough Avenue.

 ROVING STREET CAROLERS:

Thanks to our Major Sponsor Northstar Jeep, Scarborough Lights has also arranged for the Sharon Alback Dance Centre to provide a group of their little 'Angels' to perform Roving Christmas Carols throughout the Scarborough Shopping Village right throughout December.

SCHEDULE: (dates may change if inclement weather does not allow performances to take place)
AFTERNOONS: 1:00pm to 2:30pm on Dec 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th
                           1:30pm to 3:30pm on 24th Dec
EVENINGS:      7-8 pm on Dec 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th

 We hope that what we do brings that Old-fashioned Christmas Spirit to you and your family during the festive season..

 Scarborough has great retail and specialty shops, restaurants and cafes and plenty of overnight accommodation available locally or in nearby Redcliffe Peninsula suburbs.

THIS ANNUAL EVENT IS ORGANISED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MORETON BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL AND SCARBOROUGH LIGHTS. IT IS HELD ON THE FIRST SATURDAY IN DECEMBER FROM 12 NOON TILL 8PM

Scarborough Lights is also responsible, both financially and oganisationally, for the Christmas Street Parade, the Markets and the Fireworks components of the Moreton Bay Regional Council’s ‘Christmas by the Sea’ Event which is held on the first Saturday in December each year.

Scarborough Lights also provides the opportunity for Community Groups and Charities to attend our Events free of charge so that they can fundraise through providing food and market stalls.
